Nicola Valley Institute of Technology Employees' Association

NVITEA is an organization formed by NVIT employees to represent the interests of workers. We unite, advise on, and resolve workplace issues by presenting a voice for employees as bargaining representatives during bargaining negotiations. We give workers the ability to negotiate from a position of strength with the employer over wages, benefits, workplace health and safety, job training and other work-related issues.

Each year, union members (NVIT employees) democratically elect their leaders (the NVITEA Executive Team) who are then responsible for advocating for the good of the unit. The NVITEA Executive Team joins together to gain a fair return on work through collective bargaining. They negotiate contracts with NVIT to determine their terms of employment, good benefits and retirement security, and safety policies.
